Hello, welcome to Dayspring Montessori International School.
At Dayspring, we adopt the Montessori Method of teaching at the Pre-school level and this gives our pupils a firm foundation to build on. This approach to teaching was originated by Maria Montessori at the beginning of the 20th Century. It employs specialized hands-on teaching and learning equipment and methods which make learning become tangible and practical and pupils have fun exploring with these equipment at their disposal. As a result of this approach, our pupils become very confident, assertive and independent.
By age four, the average child in Dayspring has a large store of vocabulary, is able to communicate intelligently, read three to five letter words with confidence and able to understand basic concepts in Mathematics. The Ghana Education Service Curriculum is used from Primary to Junior High School. We adopt subject teaching from grade 4 to Junior High and our small class sizes make it possible for teachers to give pupils individual attention. Supervision by heads of department and School Management Team helps to keep teachers on their toes. Dayspring has dedicated, disciplined and highly qualified teachers. Primary school teachers have a minimum qualification of Diploma in Basic Education, while others are degree holders. All Junior High School teachers are degree holders.
Montessori Education training is a must for our Pre-school teachers. The school organises in-service training for teachers to help improve on their service delivery. At Dayspring, we are like a family. Pupils and staff have a healthy relationship which makes everyone feel very much at home.
